Arkansas Patent of the Month – March 2021

Firearm magazines are inserted into the firearm in a magwell – an opening that extends to the bottom side of the firearm. The magazines and magwells are designed with strict tolerances so that only the correct magazine can be inserted into it’s matching magwell. However, these tolerances make the reloading process slower as the magazine has to be carefully aligned to be properly loaded. Nighthawk Custom, LLC has designed an attachment which will help to adapt the magwell for faster reloading times.

Their design provides an enlarged opening and a curved shape which helps to easily slide the magazine into the magwell. The accessory is removable so that the user can choose when to use the adaptor. The adaptor attaches to the frame of the firearm and helps to quickly align the magazine with the magwell, gliding into place rather than aligning the two pieces manually. This method helps to improve the user’s experience with handling the firearm.
