The FDA Scientific Conference Grant Program was designed to support small conferences and scientific meetings clearly aligned with the FDA mission. Eligible participants must seek permission to submit an application before submitting for conference support; this should be completed no later than eight weeks before the application submission date. Funding will not be considered if the award cannot be issued before the start of the conference. To request permission to submit an application participants should submit a letter of intent via email that includes:

  • FOA Number and Title
  • FDA Center/Offices seeking advance permission for
  • Meeting/conference title
  • Location and date of meeting/conference
  • Contact information for participating institutions
  • Contact information of the Principal investigator/Project Director
  • Number of anticipated attendees
  • Purpose/benefit/objectives/justification
  • Estimated budget
  • List of other funding sources

Funding amounts depend on type of funding requested; however request of more than $100,000 requires other forms to be filled out 60 days in advance of the conference/meeting for approval. Eligible participants include:

  • Public/State Controlled Higher Educational Institutions
  • Private Higher Education Institutions
  • Nonprofit organizations with or without 501(c)(3) IRS status
  • Small businesses
  • For-profit organizations
  • State governments
  • County governments
  • City or township governments
  • Special district governments
  • Indian/Native American Tribal Governments
  • Eligible Agencies of the Federal Government
  • U.S. Territory or Possession
  • Independent school districts
  • Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
  • Native American Tribal Organizations
  • Faith-based or Community based Organizations
  • Regional Organizations
  • Non-domestic Entities

Applications must be complete and received before the deadline.
