The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO): the Global Equality Fund: Justice Works program is an effort to strengthen local, national and regional responses to hate crime and bias-motivated violence persons. The program supports the following types of projects:
- Technical assistance and expertise
- Supporting civil and society organizations
Only one application is expected be selected for a $500,000 grant. Funds will be awarded to applicants that conform to the NOFO objectives. The U.S. government may:
- Reject all applicants
- Accept an application that is not the lowest cost
- Accept more than one application
- Accept alternate applications
- Waive any informalities and minor irregularities
Applications should request a minimum of $250,000 for a period of not more than five years. Eligible applicants include:
- U.S. based nonprofit organizations
- Foreign-based nonprofit organizations
- Public international organizations
- Non government organizations
- Higher education institutions
- For-profit organizations
- For-profit businesses
Preference will be given to nonprofit entities. This program does not have any cost sharing or matching requirements. Applications should be submitted online under the “Justice Works” announcement title. Applications should:
- Be written in English
- All pages numbered
- Formatted to 8 ½ x 11 paper
- Single spaced, 12 point Times New Roman, 1-inch margins
