The Development of Opioid and Adjuvant fixed Combination Dosage Forms for the Treatment of Chronic Pain with Reduced Addiction Potential program was organized to fund the development of adjuvant drug regimen within a single dosage form for pain treatment condition as an effort to reduce risk of addiction.

Funds typically do not exceed $150,000 for Phase I projects and $1,000,000 for Phase II projects. Applicants are encourage to contact the NIH program officials before proposing anything in excess of the guidelines.
