Diabetes Research Centers support and enhance diabetes national research efforts. Core research services include pilot and feasibility programs and enrichment programs. Activities conducted within the Diabetes Research Centers target the enhancement of efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and multidisciplinary nature of research in Diabetes research topic areas. Biomedical research that qualifies for this opportunity includes but are not excluded to:
- Genetics/genomics
- Proteomics
- Metabolomics
- Islet isolation and function
- Induced pluripotent stem cells
- CRIPSR/Cas9 technology support
- Protein chemistry and macromolecular structure
- Analytical biochemistry
- Integrative physiology
- Functional/biological imaging
- Translational research
- Clinical research
- Computational biology or bioinformatics applications to diabetes
- Biostatistics
$5 million is available for allocation with no budget limits per project. Proposal are expected to cover the actual needs of the proposed project and may cover maximum of five years.
This program does not have any cost sharing requirements. Applications must be complete and received before the deadline.
