The RESTORE Act Direct Component – Non-federal Share of Another Federally Funded Activity- Non-Construction program was developed to restore areas in connection with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Eligible activities must be implemented in the Gulf Coast region and include but are not excluded to:

  • Natural resource, ecosystems, fisheries, habitats, beaches, coastal wetland restoration and protection
  • Mitigation
  • Management plans
  • Workforce development
  • Improvements to areas affected by the oil spill
  • Infrastructure projects
  • Coastal flood protection
  • Planning
  • Administration costs
  • Tourism promotion
  • Seafood consumption promotion

A total funding limit or availability has not been identified; however 47 awards will be distributed. Applicants can expect a decision within 60 to 120 days after submitting an application. Project periods may not exceed five years. Eligible applicants include:

  • Alabama Gulf Coast Recovery Council
  • Coastal Florida counties
  • Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board of Louisiana
  • Coastal Louisiana parishes
  • Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality
  • Office of the Governor of the State of Texas

This opportunity does not have any cost sharing or matching requirements. Applications must be submitted online before the deadline to be consider for funding.
