The Repowering Assistance Bio refinery Program is designed to provide bio refiners assistance for installing renewable biomass systems at their facilities or produce new energy from renewable biomass. The program will provide funding up to 50% of eligible expenses. Only bio refineries with no outstanding delinquent federal taxes, debt, judgment or debarment and must have been in existence prior to June 18, 2008.
Awarded funds may be used for:
- Equipment
- Installation
- Engineering
- Design
- Site plans
- Fees
- Permits
Awards are limited to 50% of the project cost and are distributed once each month until 90% of the award has been paid with the final 10% of the payment to be issued upon completion of the project.
To get started with the program an application must be submitted according to the announcement of application deadlines published annually in the Federal Register.
