Delaware Patent of the Month – September 2022

flavored coffee has become an increasingly popular beverage of choice. From the invention of the French press in the 1850s to more modern brewing systems, there has been a steady improvement in the quality and efficiency of coffee makers. However, many coffee machines yield a watered-down light brew, which completely lacks flavor.

Bkon, LLC (Bkon) is focused on providing coffee lovers with high-quality coffee infused with flavors of their choice. By utilizing a patented vacuum infusion method, they intend to make it easy for users to choose a flavor and have it instantly be combined with coffee, tea, and even fats, oils, and other food products.

Bkon’s novel development is a system that utilizes a vacuum to create a negative pressure environment. It consists of two chambers. One chamber holds the infusion materials, which can be fruit, herbs, botanicals, or sugar and the second chamber holds the beverage or food product. Once the machine is started, it will apply one pressure cycle to each chamber which facilitates the infusion of the flavor of the material into the beverage or food item. The vacuum within each chamber maintains its pressure during this process, and provides consistent heating through the brew/infusion cycle. Bkon’s vacuum infusion technology yields great-tasting, strongly flavored beverages that can satisfy the palate of any consumer.
