Florida Patent of the Month – May 2022

When working out, oftentimes a barbell, neck press, or other devices can cause some discomfort when used. If you front rack the barbell and rest it across your collarbone area the weight and movement can cause bruises. Sports bras are meant to provide a level of support and comfort to athletes. They can also add some fashion and individuality to athletic wear. Chestee, Inc. decided sports bras could be used for one more form of protection – by providing some padding along the collarbone.

Their design uses a high neck to bring in a collarbone protection layer. The protection guard includes layers made of padding and neoprene. The padding is set with three layers to maximize protection. It can be easily modified to offer more coverage. This means it’s not limited to sports bras and can be incorporated into t-shirts so that male athletes can benefit from clavicle protection as well.

The protective collarbone guard sits along the clavicle but provides plenty of space for customization, from colors and patterns to cutouts and mesh. Chestee is revolutionizing the athletic wear industry to ensure there is no compromise between aesthetics and protection.
