Hawaii Patent of the Month – May 2022
Using apps to track fitness by entering in each exercise and duration and estimating the intensity can be tedious and inaccurate. Using watches to track your activity might track your heart rate or movement but won’t keep track of the exercises performed or the progression as strength increases. Personal trainers can track this information for you, but can be expensive or inconvenient. Sultan Ventures LLC has developed a method which allows communication between fitness equipment and your devices so that the data can be automatically transferred.
The system works for both pre-selected exercise programs or free-form exercise programs. With this system, the device can connect with the equipment to pull data as needed. This connection is completed using a user ID from an electronic data store. But communication goes both ways. After collecting some baseline data, the device’s processor can build an exercise routine customized to the user. COmmands and details can be sent to the equipment to guide the user through the program. In this way, not only is the activity, heart rate, calories, and intensity automatically tracked and stored, the system can ensure the workout program is effective long term.
