U.S. Patent No. 12320838, titled ‘Testing device for electronic devices with in-band virtualized wired communications’, introduces a novel approach to wired data testing that may reshape how manufacturers verify quality and function.
Virtualizing the test bench
Traditional wired testing requires direct physical connections, which can be costly, slow, and inflexible. NuCurrent’s patented device removes this barrier by creating a virtualized communication environment. It allows a test device to interact with the target hardware as if they were physically connected via a wire-while actually using wireless or indirect links.
Improving efficiency across development cycles
This virtual wired system can simulate standard protocols like USB or Ethernet during testing. As a result, it significantly reduces hardware wear, increases throughput, and lowers setup complexity. Device makers can test multiple configurations or updates without redesigning fixtures or re-cabling hardware. That makes it especially useful in R&D labs, quality assurance environments, and even production lines.
