Proso millet is already known for its resilience in dry climates. The company has unlocked its potential for greater output. Researchers used advanced breeding methods, integrating genetic analysis with field data to select for high-performance traits. The result is the DLG40 cultivar, a plant designed for modern agricultural needs.
Farming for the Future
This development has major real-world implications. Higher-yielding, drought-tolerant crops allow farmers to produce more food on existing land with fewer resources. The patent also covers methods for creating new hybrid versions, opening the door for continuous innovation. This technology supports more sustainable farming practices and strengthens the global food supply chain.
