The production of bulk granular materials typically needs to remove fluids from the bulk material. Similar processes are used in other industries, such as draining water from coal after it’s been mined. Regardless of industry, most use a portable drainage system to remove this moisture.
RTD Enterprises has taken the existing knowledge and precedence on drainage technology and developed a portable drainage solution for use in plant irrigation. Plants in a grow room are typically grown in soil while moisture is delivered in a controlled manner. In RTD Enterprises’ design, the system is set up with modular units each made of a rigid box. Each unit is filled with oil and has water and nutrients pumped in from a reservoir. The flow is controlled by moisture sensors throughout the system.
When the sensors detect that moisture needs to be removed from the system, a return pump is turned on. This pumps out any excess water and nutrients and returns it to the reservoir. The unit has an impermeable flexible liner which has a pickup filter along its bottom. This filter connects to the return line and a pressure gauge. It’s this system that pulls water back through the return pump.
