Mississippi Patent of the Month – July 2021

SkyHawke Technologies, LLC. – or SkyGolf – has designed a device capable of coaching you through your golf performance. While other similar devices exist, they typically lack any data analytics and only track data such as shot distance from a starting point. Coaching is also normally done with a real-life coach in live sessions. SkyGolf, however, has designed a portable coaching aid that can help improve your golf performance at any time.

Their system tracks your golf play, analyzes your performance and displays its findings through text and images. These findings identify and assist with form correction, strategy, and overall performance. It also creates and presents shot zone diagrams that consider the clubs in use and the golfer’s past performance when in similar conditions. The device uses GPS signals and user inputs to track positioning and general data. The user input would include details like primary shot information, ball location, and club type. Graphical directions can be used to suggest potential moves or angles for the golfer. They can further connect with coaches that are signed up on the associated app to get live directions and coaching. SkyHawke developed this device and app to improve people’s golfing experience without interrupting the pace of the game.
