Nebraska Patent of the Month – September 2022
Cooking is an essential part of all of our lives. While the quality of cooking equipment has improved over the years, there are still some improvements to be made on the handles of our cookware. Typically, handles are uncomfortable to hold and often prevent users from adequately cleaning the surface of soiled cookware.
Cue Columbia Insurance Company – A business that has developed an innovative detachable cookware handle that is easy to use and extremely convenient. Their patented design boasts an ergonomic handle with a larger cross section near the base that tapers into a smaller section towards the end for comfortable holding and also prevents slipping from the hand. Its long length helps to buffer heat transfer when cooking or moving the cookware. In addition, it is made up of thermally-resistant plastic polymer material. Best of all, it is versatile as it conveniently fits multiple types of cookware.
The detachable handle requires the user to press two buttons to release and attach the handle. This ensures the handle is safely secured to the cookware and easily removed when needed. This removable handle allows users to thoroughly clean all soiled cookware, preventing food buildup around the handle, making your cookware last much longer.
