New Hampshire Patent of the Month – June 2025

The U.S. Patent Application No. 20250180887 titled ‘Articulating bridge system for panoramic night vision devices’ introduces a breakthrough in head-mounted optics design. The system offers independent pod articulation, a sleeker profile, and improved user comfort.

Articulating pods for real-world ease

Nocturn Industries LLC proposes a bridge system that lets each night vision pod pivot independently. This design allows users to fold pods in three positions. It reduces neck strain and clears space when entering vehicles or doorways.

Low profile meets rugged use

The patent outlines a lightweight aluminum bridge with dual hinges. When stowed, pods sit close to the helmet. This lowers the center of gravity. The result: less fatigue during long missions and safer movement in tight spaces.

Seamless compatibility across gear

The system works with existing panoramic night vision units like GPNVG‑18, QTNVG, and ANVIS‑10. No special tools are needed. Users can retrofit their current devices with a simple, plug‑and‑play upgrade.

Better protection and mission-ready design

Stowing pods shields delicate optics above the user’s eyes. The design also keeps weapon optics clear, enabling rapid switching between night vision and thermal scopes. This ensures more effective operation in evolving scenarios.

The patent’s innovation blends ergonomic design with tactical readiness. Its articulating bridge headgear may become a new standard in military, law enforcement, and search-and-rescue. By offering pod-by-pod control and seamless integration, the system delivers smarter, lighter, and more effective night vision.
