Patent of the Month – August 2022

After your dog is done running around and chasing their tail, they need to cool down. They might search for shade or some cool tile to lay down on. Or maybe you have a cooling pet pad stored in the fridge for just this case. But what happens when your pet is home alone and wants to cool down? The Green Pet Shop Enterprises, LLC has designed a self-cooling pad that doesn’t require any refrigeration or electricity, ensuring your pup can lay down and cool off whenever they want.

Their patented design is not only more convenient for your pup, it’s greener for the Earth. Without the need for electricity or refrigeration, the pad has minimal impact on the earth beyond its initial fabrication, offering a much more sustainable solution.

The pad is designed with multiple layers, with each layer bonded to the next. The cooling action is achieved by the angled interaction between temperature regulating layers and cooling gels. When a pet lays down, the pressure triggers an endothermic reaction responsible for the cooling effect. After the pet gets up, the reverse reaction takes place, effectively ‘recharging’ the pad.

The design offers a solution for much more than just hot days. The cooling effect can help reduce inflammation associated with hip dysplasia, achy joints, and other health conditions. The Green Pet Shop was founded by a father and son who love their dogs as family. This love inspired their commitment to developing high quality, unique, and eco-friendly pet products.
