Topeka, Kansas Patent of the Year – 2024/2025

Immersion Systems Inc. has been awarded the 2024/2025 Patent of the Year for its innovative silverware washing system. Their invention, detailed in U.S. Patent Application No. 20240023786, titled ‘Immersion systems & methods for pre-washing or washing silverware’, utilizes a programmable immersion mechanism to automate and enhance the cleaning of utensils.

The system features a central basin equipped with multiple vertically movable, perforated baskets arranged radially. These baskets, designed for optimal fluid flow, are repeatedly immersed into a wash tank containing cleaning fluid. This motion ensures thorough cleaning by allowing the fluid to reach all surfaces of the utensils and naturally rearranging them during the process. A programmable controller manages the operation, coordinating the movement of the baskets and regulating the wash cycle. The design includes sensors and heating elements to maintain optimal fluid temperature, as well as valves for controlled fluid inflow and drainage. An integrated chemical additive system allows for precise dosing of cleaning agents, enhancing the washing efficiency.

This innovation addresses the need for efficient, automated cleaning solutions in commercial kitchens and food service establishments. By reducing manual labor and ensuring consistent cleaning quality, the system offers a practical solution for high-volume utensil washing.

Immersion Systems Inc., based in Kansas City, Missouri, continues to develop advanced food service equipment aimed at improving operational efficiency and hygiene standards in the industry.
