Masaba, Inc. has been around for nearly 5 decades, working to develop innovative and structurally sound equipment in the mining and aggregate industries. Conveying and transporting the mined products is a key aspect to the entire process. The mined product is often heavy and must be transported a long way between sites. Masaba has designed a conveyor system combined with an unloading device to reduce the manual labor required.
Their design uses a drive over dump conveyor connected to ramps. The drive over dump system allows vehicles to drive onto and off of the conveyor structure. When on the conveyor the truck can dump their mined product onto and through a grate which is positioned over the conveyor. The unloader has side ramps which can be folded upwards to reduce the width of the total apparatus. Once they are folded up, the unloader can be more easily moved from one location to another. The side ramps can also be broken down into smaller parts to make it as compact as possible. When the unloader is in position, dump trucks and belly dump trailers can drive partially over the system to dump their product. The product goes through the elements, conveyed to a higher elevation for stockpiling, loading into another vehicle, or whichever next step is needed. Each of the ramp’s movements are supported by actuators. This completely portable design makes it easy to transport equipment from location to location while keeping unloading simple.
