Texas Patent of the Month – November 2020
As we enter flu season during a pandemic, sanitization is on everyone’s minds. Every store we enter, everytime we touch something, we sanitize our hands. But what about our phones or our tablets? They don’t often get sanitized as much as our hands do since we tend to use them in public after touching door handles or something in a store. Bacteria thrive on high touch surfaces, so your clean hands can easily become contaminated by your beloved cell phone. That’s why Tech Goods USA Inc. has developed a disinfecting device to sanitize our phones, tablets, or other portable objects.
Tech Goods’ device uses UV lights that emit a specific wavelength to disinfect and can also produce a gentle heat and/or spray a cleanser on the object. The device features a conveyor belt that runs between an enclosed space which has an entrance and an exit. The conveyor belt carries the object into the enclosed portion where UV lights are located to disinfect it, and, once sanitized, the object is carried out by the conveyor belt where it can be picked up by its owner. To encourage use, the disinfecting device can be placed in high traffic areas, such as stores, airports, and restaurants.
