Ocean Exploration Funding Opportunities are available to fund Interdisciplinary Ocean exploration projecting in these areas:

  • Physical, chemical, and biological characterizations of deep, unknown or poorly known, ocean areas of deeper than 500m
  • Baseline characterization of marine archaeological resources
  • Technology advances for ocean exploration that applies to NOAA missions

Awards typically range between $50,000 to $1.5 million, based on fund availability; $3 million is available for allocation. Eligible applicants include:
