The Solid Waste Management Program FY16 is a grant program that provides funding for landfill evaluation and process improvement projects. These grants are reimbursement grants with a one year term based on available funds. Projects may focus on:

  • Construction or operation of water and waste facilities
  • Previous incurred costs

Eligible participants include:

  • Nonprofit organizations
  • The Public body
  • State-recognized Native American Tribe or group
  • Academic institution

Eligible participants requirements:

  • Have a proven successful technical assistance track record
  • Has no delinquent debt to the Federal Government
  • Is composed of a minimum of 51% U.S. membership
  • Has no outstanding judgments for federal debt
  • Demonstrate financial, technical, and managerial ability
  • Does not contract with nonaffiliated organizations for less than 49% of proposed assistance
