The WaterSMART Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Program Funding program is a grant program available to investigate opportunities to reclaim and reuse wastewaters and naturally impaired ground and surface water. These funds are open to the Western States and Hawaii and may be used to fund water recycling and reuse project:
- Planning
- Design
- Construction
- Other pre-approved projects
Grant awards can range between $1 and $4 million with $20,000,000 available for allocation. Eligible applicants are excluded to water reclamation and reuse project sponsors specifically authorized for funding under Title XVI of Public Law 102-575. Cost share requirements include 75% of project costs or more; however, in-kind contributions may cover some of this requirement. Only five to ten awards are expected to be granted through this program.
