The Serious STEM Games for Pre-College and Informal Science Education Audiences program was designed to fund the cost of developing serious Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) games focusing on:
- Pre-kindergarten to 12th grade students
- Pre- and in-service teachers
- Informal Science education audiences
These games should be designed to train, educate, and encourage behavioral changes. Funds typically do not exceed $150,000 for Phase I projects and $1,000,000 for Phase II projects; however, budgets may be increased up to 50% with Congress approval. Applicants are encourage to contact the NIH program officials before proposing anything in excess of the guidelines.
