This program is an effort to create jobs within the film industry. Grants are awarded within five different categories including: film & television projects, commercials, video gaming, reality television, and visual effects. Grants vary by type and budget; they are only issued after expenditures are reviewed. Grants may be awarded from $100,000 to $3.5 million or more.

Applicants must apply no earlier than 60 days prior to first day of production and no later than five days prior to production. Accepted applicants must:

  • Return a signed agreement within seven days.
  • Schedule an accounting review meeting
  • Submit a crew call to TFC website
  • Download forms from the website
  • Set up reports with payroll company

Once the project has started TFC must be notified within five days and Declaration of Texas Residency (DTR) forms must be completed for all crew, staff and extras. The Excel sheet should be downloaded from the TFC website for reporting and should be submitted as a PDF document. Should the project be delayed or go over budget TFC must be contacted immediately.

After completing a project final reports need to be submitted within 60 days with necessary marketing materials, press photos, and posters used. TFC should be contacted to answer any questions or concerns.
