Dusting is one of those chores that sounds easy but is, in practice, quite challenging. Some dusters simply move the dust from the object to the air instead of trapping it. In other cases, the dust has sat long enough to become stuck to the object. And dust collects even more in ledges, narrow spots, and tight corners. And just when you think you’re finished, you look up and realize dust collects on the walls and light fixtures as well. Now you need a ladder.
Crown Down Cleaners, LLC is familiar with these frustrations. This inspired their innovation of a power driven duster. This duster is handheld and uses a lightweight power drill to rotate the cleaning head. The head combines dusting and polishing into a single motion. A shield is attached to the pole, close to the cleaning head. The shield acts as a water barrier to prevent water from flowing down and dripping on the user or from entering the electric drill.
The cleaning head itself is made from a collection of fabric or fiber bundles. The dusting head is rotated by the drill, allowing the fibers to remove dust or buff polish into the object. Different cleaning heads can be made to adapt to various purposes. Stiffer bristles for tougher to reach spots or softer fabrics for fragile objects.
The total length can be extended by adding additional pole pieces. The rotation is controlled and wobbling is limited by fitted bands. In this way, those hard to reach light fixtures and high areas can be dusted without needing a lift up.
