Buckets or containers that hold bulk materials usually have snap-on lids, where the lid clips onto the container. This is a design feature to make it easy to quickly secure the lid on the container during assembly line packing processes. But twist-on lids are typically more secure. Matrix Bottles, LLC has been designing and manufacturing bottles and containers of all forms for a long time. Recently, they have designed a new container which offers the security of twist-on with the speed of assembly of snap-on lids.

This design incorporates both methods into one. The container and lid have both the thread for twist-on and the ridge for snap-on. To put the lid on in assembly, you can simply align it and press down to snap it in place. The lid has a set of tabs that are shaped to bend outward and then snap in to hold the lid in place. The tabs are then fixed to the periphery of the lid portion at set spots. The tabs can be easily snapped away when the container will be opened for the first time, and also indicate if the container has never been opened before. After the first opening, the lid can be taken off or put back on using the twist-on method with the threaded pieces. This makes sure the container has the security needed by the end user without increasing the time needed in the assembly line.
