Missouri Patent of the Month – April 2023
Data privacy and security are crucial in today’s digital age, especially when it comes to sharing sensitive information for purposes like artificial intelligence analysis or surveys. TripleBlind Inc, a privacy-focused data management platform, is addressing this challenge by enabling secure data sharing without compromising the privacy of individuals.
A recently patented approach enables the sharing of a particular Nth value of a combined list of data without sharing other private data. For instance, different countries might want to find the median of their medical data values without revealing specific medical data to each other due to legal issues. TripleBlind’s platform allows them to do so by securely computing the Nth smallest value of the combined data list.
The method is complex and involves providing a specific value, Ri, to a group and then computing how many numbers are smaller than Ri in a respective list of values for each respective member of the group. The total number of smaller values (Pi) is then used to identify Ri position in the list of values, removing all values larger and all values smaller to return only the Nth smallest value.
TripleBlind’s privacy-focused data management platform enables secure data sharing for AI analysis and surveys. TripleBlind’s platform is a HIPAA tested data solution, and drives data collaboration by de-identifying data and reinforcing privacy and security.
