Winco has changed this by designing smart windows with integrated motorized shades that can be connected to a building’s electrical grid in a consistent and modular way. One of the main challenges in integrating motorized shades into windows has been the wiring process. In the past, wiring for motorized shades was routed through holes in the window frame or even through the glass panes of the window. This not only reduced the structural integrity of the window but also created an unattractive aesthetic.
Winco’s solution to this problem was to design windows with a consistent and modular way to connect the wiring to a building’s electrical grid. By doing so, the wiring is hidden behind the walls, making it more accessible for maintenance and repairs. Furthermore, Winco’s design allows for easy rewiring and updates at a later time, making it a more practical and long term solution for commercial buildings.
