Nevada Patent of the Month – June 2021
Have you ever left something behind, like a cell phone in a rental car, or your wallet at a restaurant? These items usually end up in a lost-and-found bin and might never be recovered, or could even be returned to the wrong owner. Businesses have used this system for a long time, but improvements have rarely made it more reliable or efficient. Chargerback Inc. has developed a better system – a lost and found software that makes it easy to return items to the rightful owners.
Their system aims to help users recover their lost items in a cost effective and efficient manner if it’s been left at a business. The system is built to integrate within a business’ software system. The system can integrate with their customer databases which store information like names and contact information. Let’s say a customer stayed at multiple hotels within a chain as they drove cross country and left their phone in one of them. The customer could submit a lost item report to the hotel through their website which transfers the information to the lost and found server. This report then notifies the hotel customer service at each branch the customer stayed at so that they know who to contact when the item is found. This system offers a centralized lost and found method to organize and coordinate the recovery of these items and the customer information to ensure it is returned properly.
Are you developing new technology for an existing application? Did you know your development work could be eligible for the R&D Tax Credit and you can receive up to 14% back on your expenses?
