North Dakota Patent of the Month – December 2021

Home gyms are often seen as unrealistic as they are expensive and require a large amount of space for all the equipment. However, after experiencing global lockdowns in response to the pandemic, many people are looking for ways to make a home gym more viable.

PRx Performance, LLC has been ahead of the curve in bringing gym equipment to your home. Back in 2016, the company brought their product to Shark Tank. The design was a folding squat rack which could be stored just 4 inches from the wall. This meant a home gym no longer needed a dedicated space. The rack could be folded up when not in use without any impact on it’s stability.

PRx Performance has been innovating equipment since then, working towards space-saving storage, budget-friendly options, and expandable solutions to make your home gym dreams a reality.

Recently, the company has developed a new retractable wall-mounted weightlifting bench. This bench can be extended out from the wall when in use, provided the same stability and support or any traditional bench. The bench then rotates to a vertical position as the crossbar is retracted to be pulled flush against the wall. When stored, the entire bench extends only a few inches from the wall. The bench extends and retracts with one motion, meaning there is no need to lock it in place or no complex set up. Their bench has also been designed to fit within their existing equipment, such as their Murphy Racks to create a more complete home gym with fewer pieces.
