Texas Patent of the Month – June 2023

When it comes to outdoor activities like camping, boating, or tailgating, the table is often where people come to gather. Whether fileting the fish you’ve just caught, processing game meat, or simply preparing a meal, a sturdy and portable surface is a must. Pecos USA, LLC takes this design challenge seriously, bringing a masterclass in engineering to the center of the gathering.

A traditional collapsible plastic table is often too flimsy, while a sturdy wooden or metal table is too heavy to haul around. Pecos USA’s Outdoor Table is designed to be both sturdy and portable, whether it’s hauled onto a boat or onto a ranch.

The table is designed with a cutting board with a cutting surface on top and a bottom surface underneath. To ensure stability and durability, the bottom surface is equipped with side walls along its edges. These side walls play a crucial role in supporting the table and cutting surface.

Pecos USA has specifically designed an elevation system to ensure the table surface is never too short nor too high. The elevation system consists of a set of legs that can be inserted into sockets located on the bottom surface of the cutting board. Each socket is threaded and includes an alignment component and teeth for secure attachment of the legs.

During insertion, the alignment components of the sockets bias the rotation of the legs, ensuring proper alignment and smooth insertion. Once fully inserted, the teeth of the legs mesh with corresponding teeth in the sockets, providing a secure and stable connection. This innovative design prevents premature meshing and guarantees a reliable attachment. Once attached, the legs can be adjusted to suit any user’s height.

The table foot includes a hollow cavity that allows the base to articulate, enabling it to adapt to different angles on uneven surfaces. This feature ensures stability even on challenging terrains, making the table suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities.

Pecos USA prides itself on developing Texas strong solutions. To make sure their table meets these requirements, the entire product is American made – from labor, to tooling, to manufacturing, to shipping.
