Texas Patent of the Month – May 2023

Nimbix Inc is a company that has made significant advancements in the cloud computing industry. The company has recently been granted a patent for their method of creating and executing applications within containers in cloud computing

The invention provides a method of receiving a command from a client via an inbound communications Application Programming Interface (API), analyzing the command to obtain information to execute it, identifying requested applications, and determining an environment for each requested application based on the command or type of application requested.

The environment is created using an environment template, which is used to create a customized template used in a container, representing isolated computational space supported by a compute node. The container supports the execution of one or more requested applications, with instructions for the creation, updating, and execution of both the applications and the environment provided within the container.

This method provides a highly efficient and effective way of executing applications in cloud computing, as it enables the creation of an environment that is customized for each application, without the need for manual configuration. The use of containers also allows for isolation of computational space, which reduces the risk of contamination and improves overall performance.

Nimbix’s innovative approach to cloud computing has significant implications for a range of industries, including genomics, seismic, analytics, physics, and others that require processing large amounts of data. With the use of their method, companies can execute applications more efficiently, reducing costs, and improving performance. Offering a new approach to executing applications that is highly efficient and customizable, the method has significant implications for various industries, and it will be exciting to see how the technology is implemented in the future.

Are you developing new technology for an existing application? Did you know your development work could be eligible for the R&D Tax Credit and you can receive up to 14% back on your expenses? Even if your development isn’t successful your work may still qualify for R&D credits (i.e. you don’t need to have a patent to qualify). To find out more, please contact a Swanson Reed R&D Specialist today or check out our free online eligibility test.
