Carrying a baby all the time takes a toll on the body. In some parts of the world, baby carriers are commonly used to support a baby against your chest or back. But learning to use the carrier can be daunting, as the wrap needs to support the baby and their head without being too snug. The founders of Lalabu, LLC set out to develop baby carriers that give all the comfort of a traditional design without any of the complexity.
The company has recently patented their child carrier which combines the stability and form of a rigid carrier with the softness and flexibility of a wrap-style carrier. The child is positioned within a pouch which has holes for their legs to sit through, and space for their arms. This way, it’s simple to position the baby while still getting the comfort of a wrap-style.
In order to adapt to different size children (from 4 months to 2 years of age), the carrier has an adjustable head support panel. The head support has two layers and can be raised or lowered from either side. This way, the baby can have full neck support while still having their face visible, or the support can be fully extended to block light from the baby’s face.
Rather than having multiple straps and buckles, the soft fabric wraps around the waist and has wide shoulder straps threaded through D-rings for an adjustable fit. The carrier can be positioned on the back or the front without requiring too much adjusting. The fabric itself is buttery soft, breathable, and moisture wicking for optimal comfort for both parent and child.
