Idaho Patent of the Month – October 2022
Spring Design, LLC is focused on the way innovation can propel industries forward. This ranges from new product development to innovating on daily-use products. The company knows no industry bounds, with experience in products ranging from gym equipment to electronics. A recently patented product in their portfolio is the ergonomic infant safety seat.
In day-to-day lives, parents find themselves using the car seat outside of the vehicle just as often as in. Whether they are carrying the car seat from car to house or around a store, comfort is key to being able to carry it the whole time. Spring Design’s car seat is designed with ergonomic hand supports to achieve two points of support. This ensures the weight of the car seat is not too low, which can make it dig into the carrier’s legs.
The dual support is achieved by having a handhold at the base of the carseat handle and a loop further up the handle. This loop can wrap around the forearm or bicep of the carrier depending on the adult’s arm length. This creates a tension against the upper arm and support from the hand for optimal carrying. This ergonomic design limits the strain put on your back while carrying the seat, protecting you and the baby.
