Minnesota Patent of the Month – July 2021

A hunting saddle is used to support a hunter in a tree without the need for a traditional heavy metal stand. Tethrd LLC has a passion for saddle hunting and aims to design innovative and state of the art saddle hunting equipment. Recently, they have developed an improved gear holding device that maintains ease of access. Other versions available in the industry are known to be difficult to securely mount to a tree or are too small to hold much gear.

Tethrd designed their device to use a flexible strap with loops across one side. A connector at one end can hook with any loop to conform to the size of the tree. In addition, a slide buckle is incorporated so that the strap can be tightened or loosened if the tree size doesn’t quite match with the loop placements. The combination of the connector and slide adjuster allows for optimal adjustability. The remaining loops can be used to hold all gear which fit or hook on. Other gear can be attached with the use of modular lightweight load-carrying equipment connectors, so that backpacks, tools, and other gear can be secured in place. This keeps all your gear near you without needing an overly large platform. Tethrd uses innovations like these to improve the saddle hunting experience for anyone in the community.
