Mississippi Patent of the Month – June 2023

Luggage racks are a common tool for organizing a closet or optimizing the use of space. Collapsible designs reduce their footprint when in storage while an operational position can withstand the weight of a packed suitcase. Whitmor, Inc., masters in organization, have designed their own luggage rack which expands on these benefits.

The new luggage rack combines practicality with convenience by incorporating storage shelves that hang from the top of the rack.

The frame consists of two legs connected by pivot points, allowing for easy folding and storage when not in use. The upper portions of the legs are equipped with support bands to ensure stability and durability. The storage compartment hangs from the upper portions of the legs using support straps. These straps can be easily attached and detached, offering flexibility and adaptability to the user. This design provides greater versatility than previously seen.

The storage compartment is made from durable fabric, with portions of the outer walls and inner wall featuring a mesh fabric. This design allows for proper ventilation and easy identification of stored items. Additionally, the bottom of the storage compartment includes a border with increased stiffness, thanks to a wire support, ensuring stability even when filled with heavier items.
