Panoramic videos create an immersive experience, allowing viewers to pan, tilt, and zoom around an entire room. C360 Technologies, Inc., an immersive media expert, has developed a method for creating multi-camera panoramic projections to make streaming these immersive experiences possible in real time.
Most team sports, like hockey and soccer, have two high-value points of view – the nets. Being able to see both the home and opposing teams net ensures the viewer gets a full view of the game. Other sports, like baseball, have high-value points of view behind the catcher and at both first and third base. Regardless of the number of high-value points of view, seeing each is essential to creating a truly comprehensive immersive experience.
The technology stitches together the images from multiple panoramic cameras, pulling their fields of view into a single projection. By positioning these cameras to capture the high-value point of view, the final stitched projection covers all the bases. The final projection is then encoded into industry standard codecs, like H.264, before being streamed on the desired platform.
