Recently, the company has been awarded a patent for a bodily fluid drainage assembly, falling in line with a series of patents that support The Fig Leaf® design. The Fig Leaf® is a urinary drain bag that preserves the dignity of the patient by hiding the fluid from view with a built-in cover.
The recent patent encompasses a design for a fluid drainage bag with a cover. The bag has a series of volume indicators which can convey just how full the bag is without the carer needing to unveil the contents. The design also has space for a hanger near the top of the bag so that it can be easily secured against a wheelchair, bed, or stand. An outlet tube near the bottom makes for easy drainage, while using an outlet regulator ensures the fluid neither leaks nor flows too quickly.
SteriGear is committed to innovation and has continually worked to improve their design for The Fig Leaf®. As a result of this commitment, the company has designed a range of drainage bags including full size, light, twin, and leg attachment options.
