The company was recently awarded a patent for their voice activated authentication technology which advances their hands-free solutions even further.
The most popular authentication techniques these days include fingerprint, PIN, and face detection. Unfortunately, these don’t translate well for wearable and hands-free devices. RealWear’s solution offers a method to log into and authenticate access for a hands-free head-mounted device. Voice authentication ensures only the desired user can gain access to (a) the device and (b) protected data. The authentication protocol compares a live voice sample with a stored voice profile, matching frequency, duration, and amplitude.
The company’s assisted reality solutions bring a “reality first, digital second” solution to the workforce. Balancing safety and productivity, the technology allows a person to view information without obstructing their field of view, controlling what is seen with just the user’s voice rather than hand gestures such as waving or pinching in the air, or using a touchscreen of a tablet (which requires removing PPE/work gloves). The voice recognition authentication protocol extends this capability, bringing security to the safest tool around.
