Five Element Color Therapy is a healing method derived from Yin-Yang’s theory on the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams of Chinese medicine. The goal is to utilize spectral energy to adjust the flow of Qi (pronounced chee). When the body is healthy, Qi flows smoothly through the meridians that make up a conceptual network of pathways throughout the entire body. Adjustments to Qi can bring about an optimal state of physical and mental balance thereby opening up the healing process.
PhotonFECT Technology, LLC has designed a device which makes it as simple as possible to deliver phototherapy. The wearable device delivers light energy to specified regions on the wearer’s skin. These light spots are designed in the arrangement of the Eight-Trigram positions to deliver light in the wavelengths of 620-630 nm, 510-520 nm, and 570-580 nm. Specifically, they are lights in the colors red, yellow, green, white, and black. Temperature of the light emitters is controlled so there is no excessive heat, providing a painless and simple therapy session.
The colored light is directed towards the abdomen or palm based on the desired effect. Each point in the Trigram represents one or two organs in the human body, with respective colors working on these organs to generate, restrict, strengthen, or neutralize the organ’s energy. In this way, balance can be restored. Since it is normally applied towards the abdomen or the palm, the device can be designed to sit on either.
