3Oe Scientific, LLC is an Indiana-based sci-tech company focused on bringing innovative ideas to commercialization. Their recently patented technology is also their first-to-market idea. The miniaturized generator is designed to precisely make and control aqueous ozone with an initial application in hand hygiene.
Any improvement to hygiene on the go – including sanitizing our hands – is welcome following the COVID pandemic. Washing hands with soap and water is the classic solution but relies heavily on the individual properly cleansing both hands in full. Ozone has been proven to be a highly effective disinfectant and with 3Oe Scientific’s technology, it can be easily sprayed at a safe dosage.
The design includes a spray chamber where you can insert your hands. The system then sprays water and aqueous ozone which is generated on the spot. This is achieved by taking oxygen from water and concentrating it. Ozone is made of three oxygen particles, so concentrating the oxygen from water can easily generate aqueous ozone. This concentrated and energized solution is then sprayed through innovative nozzles which add a spin to the stream of water. This spin creates increased friction as the droplets hit the skin, improving the germ removal process.
Prolonged exposure to ozone, or exposure to an excessive concentration can result in lung and tissue damage. Because of this risk, 3Oe Scientific committed to rigorous testing to ensure it would be completely safe. This included testing from multiple independent 3rd party clinical research labs, each of which returned results declaring it safe and effective.
