Mississippi Patent of the Month – February 2023

Hunting blinds are essential to going undetected while on the hunt. Unfortunately, most have been overengineered and are too complex to be functional or easily disassembled when on the go. Icon Outdoors, LLC (DBA Drake) has designed an improved hunting blind, simplifying the structure to make it portable and sturdy.

The blind offers greater surface area for the user to sit, allowing their weight to be more evenly distributed while maximizing stability. Designed with side panels and hinge brackets, the seat mounts to a side panel and hinges offer support arms for comfort. The panels can be linked together so that multiple blinds can be joined, creating one large blind.

Another key feature of this design is that the top is not connected to the sides of the blind but is instead hinged to the backside of the platform. This eliminates the need to detach the top of the blind to disassemble it, making it easier and faster to pack up and leave the hunting scene.

The hunting blind from Drake is portable, easy to set up, and comes with several accessories. It features a comfortable swivel seat with a gun rest, a padded backrest, and a padded shooting rail for comfortable and steady shooting. The blind is also covered in a weather-resistant material that protects the user from the elements. Its unique features set it apart from the prior art hunting blinds, making it safer, more stable, and more comfortable.
