New Jersey Patent of the Month – August 2023

For over 10 years, EastPoint Sports Ltd., LLC has created innovative home recreational games and products that bring fun, action, and excitement. EastPoint Sports, developer of Connect4 Hoops and The Original Kan Jam, has developed an adjustable net system. Traditional nets, though functional, often come with fixed dimensions that can impede the enjoyment of a game. EastPoint Sports’ adjustable net system can adapt to various spaces and player requirements without compromising on the integrity of the game.

The net itself features two nets interconnected by a net mesh portion. Each net is equipped with a pocket on one end which enables the net to be easily adjusted to different lengths, catering to diverse spaces and player preferences.

The upper net tape runs along the top of the net mesh, while the lower net tape lines its bottom, providing stability and structure. A set of releasable net clamps secured to the second net end sleeve allow players to fold the net upon itself, decreasing the distance between the first and second net ends. This foldable design not only facilitates storage but also enables the net to be customized for various game scenarios.

To support this innovative net, EastPoint Sports offers a pair of net support stands. These stands engage the net end sleeves, ensuring stability and reliability during gameplay. The collapsible nature of these support stands adds to the system’s convenience, making it portable and adaptable for different settings.

EastPoint Sports’ Adjustable Net System is a testament to the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of sports equipment design. With this invention, the limitations of traditional nets are shattered, offering players the freedom to tailor their gaming experience. As the sports world continues to evolve, EastPoint Sports remains at the forefront of innovation, enriching the way we play and compete.
