A breakthrough in biofuel production is set to transform how the agricultural industry powers the world. Novita Nutrition, LLC has secured U.S. Patent No. 12545846, titled ‘Renewable fuels, diesel and methods of generation from renewable oil sources’, for a system that turns corn processing byproducts into high-grade renewable diesel.
Powering Engines with Corn Oil
The patented technology focuses on extracting oil from distillers dried grains. This material is a common leftover from ethanol production. By using a specific solvent called 2-methyloxolane, the process recovers valuable oils that were previously difficult to capture. This method creates a sustainable feedstock for renewable diesel and other biofuels.
A Cleaner Path to Fuel
Traditional diesel relies on fossil fuels that harm the environment. This invention uses a chemical process called glycerolysis to reduce acidity in the oil. The result is a high-quality fuel that can power existing engines without heavy modification. It provides a circular solution for farmers and fuel producers alike.
Strengthening Energy Independence
The innovation bridges the gap between food production and energy needs. By maximizing the value of every corn kernel, the system reduces waste and creates new revenue streams for rural economies. This advance represents a major step toward a renewable, domestic energy future.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
