Idaho Patent of the Month – March 2024

House of Design LLC has spent the last decade building factory automation solutions. They  have been at the leading edge of robotic automation to improve production, safety, and quality. Recently, the company was granted a patent for a new approach to automating assembly services. This innovative system streamlines the construction process, enhancing efficiency and precision while reducing manual labor.

At the heart of this system lies a sophisticated network of robotic arms and assembly stations. The sub-component extrusion station, equipped with a robotic arm, assembles and extrudes sub-components with remarkable accuracy. These sub-components, comprising members and cripple studs, form the structural foundation of the building elements.

Next in line is the sub-element assembly station, where another robotic arm seamlessly incorporates the sub-components into sub-elements. This integration process ensures that each sub-element is precisely crafted to meet the specifications of the building design.

Finally, the main element extruder takes center stage, producing the main elements of the building structure. With the assistance of a third robotic arm, the sub-elements are expertly positioned and integrated into the main element extrusion process, resulting in a cohesive and structurally sound final product.

What sets this system apart is its ability to automate the construction of sub-components, sub-elements, and building elements with minimal manual intervention. By leveraging robotics and advanced assembly techniques, House of Design Robotics has transformed the traditional construction paradigm, paving the way for faster, more efficient, and cost-effective building projects.

The system’s versatility allows for the creation of various building components, including walls, partitions, trusses, and more. Whether it’s a residential dwelling or a commercial complex, this innovative system offers unparalleled flexibility and scalability to meet the diverse needs of construction projects.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?

The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
