ETRAK Technologies to Compete for $75K in Funding from Alabama Launchpad
Alabama Launchpad is dedicated to supporting local startups to advance innovation in the state. They provide mentorship and funding to help guide startups along and move them towards commercialization. Later this month, ETRAK Technologies will be one of four startups competing in the Alabama Launchpad Virtual Finale. If successful, they will receive $75, 000 in funding.
ETRAK Technologies has developed a wearable sensor that measures motion across 9 axes. Athletes, from amateur to professional, undergo strenuous exercise which can add up as it wears on the body. Tracking this extensive range of motion can track energy output and movement efficiency helps to highlight potential injury. The wearable sensors combined with a user interface phone application can be used to predict and reduce injuries.
The other candidates include ProU Sports – whose business helps follow the career of your favorite college-gone-pro athletes; Nanoxort – whose business is dedicated to making safe and effective nanomaterial contrast agents for MRIs; and The Help Project – who is dedicated to building a platform that helps people give back to their communities.
