Makara Digital Set to Bring First SEC-Registered Crypto Robo Advisor to the Market

Robo-advisors gained traction in the past 10 years, providing customers access to low-cost professional investing strategies. With cryptocurrency on the rise it’s no surprise that a new robo-advisor would be developed specifically for them. Seattle-based Makara Digital Corp. is launching the first SEC-registered crypto-focused robo-advisor.

While the launch isn’t set until late spring, potential customers can sign up on their waitlist. The system will offer seven “baskets” which are made of different cryptocurrencies. These baskets will be rebalanced every few months in line with market conditions. They are working with Gemini – a crypto exchange – to power its banking, custody and other backend operations. This decision should provide some sense of security to customers.

Makara is a spinoff of the Stric Leviathan hedge fund, so it’s investment strategies will be based on their software and professional strategies..
