Nomad Transportable Power Systems, Inc. is redefining energy flexibility with a new modular solution for the modern electrical grid. The Vermont-based company recently filed U.S. Patent Application No. 20260051741, titled ‘Multi-operational energy storage systems’. This innovation addresses the growing need for reliable, high-capacity power that can move wherever it is needed most.
Mobile Energy for a Changing Grid
Traditional energy storage often relies on permanent, expensive installations that cannot adapt to shifting demands. This new system utilizes a versatile trailer chassis to house high-density lithium-ion battery modules. By mounting these units on wheels, the company allows utilities and businesses to deploy megawatt-scale power in record time. This mobile approach eliminates the long-term capital risks associated with fixed-site infrastructure.
A Plug-and-Play Power Solution
The patent details a proprietary docking system that simplifies the connection process. These units can seamlessly link with existing distribution or transmission utilities. This “”plug-and-play”” capability is essential for emergency response, disaster recovery, and seasonal load management. The technology ensures that critical facilities stay powered during outages without the noise or emissions of traditional diesel generators.
Innovation Driving Sustainability
The multi-operational design supports a wide range of clean energy goals. It can store power from renewable sources like solar and wind for later use. This helps stabilize the grid and supports the rapid expansion of electric vehicle charging networks. By making large-scale storage transportable, the system provides a bridge to a more resilient and sustainable energy future.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
