Pennsylvania Patent of the Month – July 2024
The newly patented analytics system developed by Resilient Cognitive Solutions, LLC represents a significant leap forward in structured analytic capabilities, designed to enhance decision-making processes across various fields. At its core, this system integrates advanced technology to facilitate rigorous inquiry and hypothesis evaluation.
Central to its functionality is the interactive nature that allows users to pose complex inquiries through a hierarchical network of questions. This network is not only user-generated but also adaptable, enabling dynamic adjustments as new insights are uncovered. Upon receiving a selected question, the system engages with users to articulate assumptions and hypotheses directly on a display interface.
A pivotal component of this system is the query module, powered by a sophisticated natural language processing engine. This module formulates detailed queries tailored to the selected question, integrating user-provided assumptions and hypotheses. These queries are then dispatched to a diverse array of data sources, ensuring comprehensive data retrieval.
Once data is gathered, it undergoes meticulous evaluation to produce refined, evaluated data sets. These are presented through the triage module, organizing information based on its age, reliability, and relevance to user hypotheses. Users can then select pertinent data items, which are transformed into evidence by the triage module.
Further enhancing its utility, the system incorporates an assessment module that critically evaluates hypotheses against the selected question. This evaluation, supported by insights from a hypotheses manager, provides users with an informed assessment displayed on the interface. Users finalize the process by confirming whether the hypothesis effectively addresses the initial inquiry.
Resilient Cognitive Solutions’ analytics system transcends traditional analytical tools by mitigating cognitive biases and maximizing data relevance. By fostering collaborative, real-time analysis and decision-making, this system empowers users across sectors—from healthcare to finance—to navigate complexity with clarity and precision. It stands as a testament to innovation in leveraging technology for robust problem-solving and informed decision-making.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
